Off-Season Tips

Preparation for tryouts begins as the cheerleading season comes to a close. Here are three tips to help you improve and stay motivated during the off-season.

  1. Stay Moving

It is important to keep up strength and endurance and it can help you improve your skills in the long run. Nothing is worse than digressing and staying active can be really easy and fun. You can go to the gym with a teammate or watch a video at home. Working out with a partner can help you stay motivated and accountable.

  1. Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

Write out goals you have for the upcoming season and write out three things that you can do to achieve them. Check in with yourself at the end of the week and reflect what has and has not been working. It is important to have a clear plan with steps to accomplish them to help you stay on track and a physical goal worksheet can help you get organized.

  1. Connect and Collaborate

Keep in touch with your teammates once in a while. It is important to keep strong bonds and reflect on the time spent together. It can be helpful to talk about goals too so you can work together to help each other accomplish them.
